7 days #3

Hey you... wanna see me play the drums? Here ya go! haha!

I have been playing professionally for ten years or so. I started playing drums in... 86? Mom is that right? Anyway, My Mom said if I took lessons for six months and passed a test she would buy me a drum kit. Long story short the crack head drum teacher ( no, the other crack head drum teacher) showed up for my lesson... almost never. So I set there practicing by myself, teaching myself. I might be a little bitter... I'm over it. :)

7 days day three. Self portrait at the kit. Long exposure obsession. 30 second exposure + $3.99 Energizer keychain L.E.D. from Target = fun. This concept may be pushing the self portrait theme however I was physically in front of the open shutter for thirty seconds. ;)

HAIL THE SOUND

Hail the sound is my band. I mean, I play in several other great bands but Hail The Sound is my deal. Adam (my cousin at left) has been playing drums for Hail for almost three years. Asylum 9 (my brother Philip at right) has been playing bass for Hail for about five months. We practice every morning (mon-fri) at 7am. I love playing and writing music. I shot this quick pic of hail the other day in my garage while we were loading gear. The random crap in in the background is testament to my crazy life of "american dream meets skateboard, rock-star want to be". One thing is for sure... I hold onto my passions and I find a way to make an unlikely situation work for the best! Ya know..... I wouldn't have it any other way!

I don't want to work, I just want to bang on the drums all day!

I wish I would have started playing drums at age 4... but I didn't. I started playing drums in 1987. I was a freshman in high school. Do the math, I am old... but I look young... right??? :) I wish I would have played on the drum-line in School, but I didn't want to be called a "band-fag". Instead they called me a "Skater-fag".

Here is a shot of the Iso-room at my studio. I can and will play at all hours of the day and night. My Wife has endless grace... after all Grace is her middle name.
