The weather outside is delightful! 12-27-10

WOW! The weather has been unseasonably warm. 50+ degrees every day! P,A and Andrew came to visit the day after Christmas. Great weather and the best lil sibs ever make for an epic winter session. Two sessions today in fact. We hit the ramp once in the morning then again after taking the kids to Bananas fun park. Fantastic day!

Have a laugh at my expense!

Seth stopped by a while back to try out his camera. I took the time to wipe all the water off of my shoes but little did I know that the lawn sprinklers had left a nasty wet spot on the west transition. Wet masonite and urethane don't mix, have a laugh at my expense!

6000 words worth

I put out the word to our extended friends and family that I am running a holiday special. eh-em! By the way... I am running a holiday special, $50 gets you a disc full of digital fun. Matt and Heather jumped at the chance to let me shutter bug.... they were scared so they jumped! Matt is a Sci-fi nut and computer wiz, Heather is an aspiring writer and can get us a discount at Best Buy! They are very imaginative and animated! We had a fun shoot. I must say I was hoping they would show up dressed as Henry the eighth and Cleopatra but they were in a conservative mood due to a long work schedule in retail hell. Thanks Matt and Heather! I hope you enjoy the pics and have a wonderful holiday!

Turkey shoot 08 (not really)

Ok so it wasn't on Thanksgiving and my friends Seth, Carrie and Hannah are not turkeys. They have been known to be hams at times however. We had a fun time shooting some pics down on main street last night. I dragged one of my studio lights down there and poached some electricity off of the city! Here are a few shots to tell the story. Going crazy is

This event is crazy in the fact that... it... never... ends. Yesterday was nonstop physical labor. We loaded in gear, lots of gear, tons of gear... tons of my gear... (I sort-a wish to sell everything and own nothing, but that is a different story). Today is a weird contrast to yesterday. All of our gear is in and working, so now my crew and I just sit here and make sure it keeps going. But this is no ordinary three hour rock show.... no this just keeps going... its the energizer bunny of gigs. Originally they booked me for 72 hours strait but when they found out we would be here a day early (to set up) they decided to tack on another twelve hours or so. So yeah.. these people are a little crazy. They are nice crazy people though and this event, (loco as the concept seems) is effectivly giving attendees freedom to experience it in whatever way feels right to the individual. They do have limits however. Apparently there is no "Naked worship" allowed. I was almost kicked out for that. I said I didn't want anything to come between me and God... but they had other ideas. I really need to get out of here for at least a few minutes! Enjoy the above mac book pro low-fi shots of me and my close friend Seth going stir-crazy in the green room.

Saturday morning trip to the Fruita wasteland park

NEWS (who cares?) as it happens!

We went to the Fruita skate... eh... park this morning. We made the most of it and tried to do our part to make the park a .... um... better place.

Hey, city of Fruita, thanks for the park but it really needs maintenance. The skatelite on the ramp is broken up in a very bad way, it's a real hazard. Let me know if I can help. ps We cleaned up most of the trash that everyone leaves around. I looked for a restroom for ten minutes before settling for a few tall weeds... Come on Fruita... at least put a port-a -potty out there.

Rumor has it that the city of Fruita is going to build Haul in a new "Woodward" park. That's great and all... but I really wish there was a vert ramp around here.

Drea resting.

We met this cool kid named Forrest. He's pretty good on that bike.

HAIL THE SOUND

Hail the sound is my band. I mean, I play in several other great bands but Hail The Sound is my deal. Adam (my cousin at left) has been playing drums for Hail for almost three years. Asylum 9 (my brother Philip at right) has been playing bass for Hail for about five months. We practice every morning (mon-fri) at 7am. I love playing and writing music. I shot this quick pic of hail the other day in my garage while we were loading gear. The random crap in in the background is testament to my crazy life of "american dream meets skateboard, rock-star want to be". One thing is for sure... I hold onto my passions and I find a way to make an unlikely situation work for the best! Ya know..... I wouldn't have it any other way!

[over] One week late

A U2 song is playing on VH1 classic, I realize that although I did not like this song (desire) originally, I love it now. Maybe it's a great song... or maybe I just feel good! I wonder if I will ever sing that well, I wonder if I will ever have a video on MTV... (I mean a video airing that I didn't pay for airtime... been there, done that). The point of all this: everything is always going on... all at once. Since my last post we had three birthdays a funeral life celebration, several large get togethers... life has been very busy... lots of fun.. but very busy.

Pretty much every family member who was in town showed up at our place for lunch last Sunday. I managed to get them all to stand still for the camera. I LOVE THESE PEOPLE!

Autumns Chase photo Dorsey Coe

Autumns Chase had a meeting last night. For ruffly 8 months we have enjoyed a relatively relaxed approach to the band. Now it has reached that point where everyone is either wanting to quit or get serious. I enjoy playing in Autumns Chase. I have more than my share of other musical projects going on and I have to turn down offers weekly. So, going into the meeting I was to be happy either way. Everyone seems to want to take Autumns Chase to the next level. Cool! It will be interesting to see what this great group of guys accomplishes together. You can check out older stuff from Autumns Chase at myspace.com/autumnschase We should have some new stuff up in a week or two.
