Old (but good) news!

Remember January 2009? I do! Jan '09 was my first month officialy on my own in the business world. In January we cellebrated my oldest son's birthday. My wife designed a pinata to look like the Death Star then we let all the kids whack it with light sabers. I hung the death star from an eye hook so I could swing it out of the way anytime the kids were moving in for the kill. The kids found this to be annoying, I on the other hand almost amused myself to death... star. Good times! Thanks to Big Wolfe for the pictures.

When the going gets tough, the tough buy more toys!

My kids are always stealing my skate. They all have boards of their own but "Daddy's rides better". I don't blame them, I can set up a good stick. So now I'm going crazy riding the "crappy board" while everyone else fights over my A,B,and C setup. Today I took matters into my own hands. Armed with the Mastercard, we packed the whole family into the Suburban and set off for the local skate shops. I scored two sets of 78a's for the boys. I got a set of zip zingers and a set of Satori's. I was hoping that 78a's would be real smooth on the street. They are not bad. The smaller diameter and narrow width makes them relatively ruff. I think they will work for my kiddos. Next I will find some bushings that are soft enough for the kids to turn. The master plan includes a mini size deck for each kid.

The best part of the night was teaching my boys how to switch out their wheels. Now my sweet daughter wants her own skate. :)

My five year old loves to shoot photos with my Nikon. He is very aware and careful with the equipment. Today while we were skating he wanted to shoot. Here are a few of his shots! Nice job D-boy!

My little Say-say is a real joy! She is growing up so fast. Right now she is into skateboards, tearing up paper and splashing in the toilet. "Boys, SHUT the lid when you are done!"

[over] One week late

A U2 song is playing on VH1 classic, I realize that although I did not like this song (desire) originally, I love it now. Maybe it's a great song... or maybe I just feel good! I wonder if I will ever sing that well, I wonder if I will ever have a video on MTV... (I mean a video airing that I didn't pay for airtime... been there, done that). The point of all this: everything is always going on... all at once. Since my last post we had three birthdays a funeral life celebration, several large get togethers... life has been very busy... lots of fun.. but very busy.

Pretty much every family member who was in town showed up at our place for lunch last Sunday. I managed to get them all to stand still for the camera. I LOVE THESE PEOPLE!

Rainy night, sunny Friday!

Band practice is at 6:45am on Friday (actually Tues, Wed, Thur and Fri). This morning it was all foggy outside. It has been raining here way more than normal. I know why. I have been reading lots of Northwestern Skateboarder blogs . Oregon weather has been in my thoughts and presto... the power of the mind! Now, I'm thinking of 78ºF and sunny! Here is a pic from a few days ago. The "D-man" is working on dropping in. WILL HE DO IT??? We will see.
